.
In this not-so-brave new world, two young people struggle to carve out their own space.
Review:
When I first saw the cover, I was all like "I have to read this book" I don't know why I liked the cover so much, but I just did. And I don't regret reading either.
Awaken is a great book, that I have totally fallen in love with. The drama and the romance were so perfect!
As usually I didn't like the main character Maddie, well she was okay. But I felt that she was weak and to emotionally. She manage to turn every little silly thing into something big and bad, she was just to dumb.
But my favorite character have to be Clare, she was so colorful and lovely. She always had something nice to say in bad situations and she was always there to support Maddie.
I liked Justin too, he had this wonderful personality, that would make any girl melt. He was one of the characters that makes my demands for other boys really high.
The writing style was good, I understood what was happening, and the book was still thrilling and made my heart bounce several times. I liked the romance, it was perfect and I'm glad it's not like many other books I have read. Where the main characters don't show any romantic feelings towards each other, until the last page, where they kiss. This book showed the romance very early and it's was fantastic.
I also loved the drama, this whole new world, where everyone was addicted to their PC and phone. And the this one group protested against the society, and then Maddie was dragged into all this.
But it was something I missed and that was action. Okay, there were some action, but it could have been more. I found some parts boring, because they never did anything. So I hope that in the book that there will be more action.
The plot was very good, very creative from the authors side. She managed to make it realistic in an unrealistic way. When I was finished with the book, I was like "What if..." and books that make me think like that afterwards, this book landed high on my list.
